*AESD strives hard to ensure food quality but once food is taken off premises, the District cannot be held liable for the quality due to many factors affecting the food such as the conditions and temperature the food is held in after being distributed. However, please alert staff to any issues you may experience so that we are able to look into the situation and make any adjustments as needed.

Updated Smart Snacks in School Questions and Answers

On March 31, 2015, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued Policy Memorandum SP 23-2015 (V.3): Questions and Answers Related to the “Smart Snacks” Interim Final Rule. To view this Policy Memo, please visit the USDA School Meals Policy Web page at http://www.fns.usda.gov/school-meals/policy.

The California Department of Education (CDE) will address these questions and answers in an upcoming Management Bulletin and integrate them into the upcoming Frequently Asked Questions on the CDE Competitive Foods and Beverages Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/nu/he/compfoods.asp.
